Symptoms

In its early stages, hypopharyngeal cancer may not cause any symptoms. One of the first symptoms is often a painless swelling or lump in the upper neck. Other symptoms may include any of the following:

• A lump in the neck
• Difficulty/pain associated with swallowing
• Voice changes
• Ear pain
