All patients are evaluated by a team of Medical Oncologists, Haemato-Oncologists, Paediatric Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Surgical Oncologist, Oncopathologist, Radiologists & Imaging experts and other relevant specialists in the Tumour Board. After detailed discussion in the tumour board a collective treatment plan is charted out as per the type, grade and stage of cancer; general condition of the patient and any other associated diseases. This ensures that all patients are treated as per National and International guidelines.
Medical Benefit - Patient avails the most suitable tailor-made standard anti-cancer treatment for an individual case, as planned and advised by multidisciplinary faculty in oncology. Such jointly arrived at treatment plans ensure better treatment outcome and thereby best possible cure results. Patient can also participate in decision-making if situation of multiple treatment option exists. The patient′s family are involved in final decision making before therapy is initiated.
Financial Benefit - Initially the consultation fee only for the primary consultant is payable whereas the patient enjoys the benefit of opinion of various oncologists participating in the tumour board practice, free of cost.
