Follow-Up Care for women who have been treated for Gynaecological Cancer

This section will explain the follow-up care for women who have been treated for gynaecological cancer at Dharamshila Hospital.

When the treatment of gynaecological cancer finished, follow up care will begin. These visits are an important part of patient care. During the follow up visits, doctors will let the patient know and discuss in case of any new findings or symptoms and will make sure that the patient is healing from the treatment. During these visits, the doctor will use diagnostic tests to monitor for any evidence of cancer recurrence. Patient will also get advice for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.It is recommended that women who have had cancer visit their health care provider for a check-up every three to six months for the first three years after active treatment has been completed, then every 6 to 12 months for the next two years and once a year after five years.
