Colposcopy
Colposcopy is a very important facility for screening, early detection and diagnosis of cancer of uterine cervix. Abnormal findings on pap smear need to be evaluated with colposcopy and guided biopsy to get accurate diagnosis. Colposcopy is carried out as a OPD based procedure.
Operation Theatres
The hospital has seven state-of-the-art operation theatres with laminar airflow and HEPA filters to ensure absolutely sterile operative environment. Facilities exist to carry out the entire range of gynecological cancer surgeries.
Endoscopy Procedures
Laparoscopy is a key hole procedure. It can be used to take biopsy to confirm diagnosis of cancers, where simpler procedures like USG guided FNAC or aspiration cytology fail to establish diagnosis and help in differential diagnosis of various malignant and benign conditions. Not only that after completion of primary treatment, it can be used to take biopsies from suspicious areas. Although this is being increasingly used in treatment of Gyneccological cancers at various centres of the world , but results of large multicentric randomised studies would confirm its definite role especially in surgical treatment of carcinoma endometrium.Laser surgery
CO2 laser is available here, is used in treatment of Cervical, Vaginal, Vulvar and intra-epihelial Neoplasia (CIn, VAIN, VIN). It is better haemostatically, and more precise for cone biopsy of cervix.Frozen section and other pathology services
Frozen section and intra-operative pathology consultations are essential for good cancer surgery. Frozen sections ensure adequate clear margins during tumour resections and where ever required, provide an intra-operative histological diagnosis where pre-operative evaluation may not have done so. Thus second surgeries with the attendant risks of anaesthesia are totally avoided and we are able to provide our patients with the best Surgical Oncology Services.Intensive care unit
